Roma are an important part of Ukraine's population. There are quite a large number of them living in the country—between fifty and one hundred thousand. This documentary shows the peculiarities of the Gypsy people's life in modern society. You will see the stories of five Gypsy barons who will talk about the traditions of their people and reveal some secrets that were previously known only to the Roma.

Pio Amato, a 14 year-old member of a small Romani community in southern Italian town of Gioia Tauro in Calabria, is in a hurry to grow up. Pio follows his older brother Cosimo everywhere and from him he learns how to hustle and how to navigate the streets of his hometown. One night Pio sets out to prove to his brother that he is as good or better than him but, when things go wrong, a series of events will forever change the way he sees the world.
A young woman, soon to be Gypsy bride, decides to take a stance against traditional norms and find herself a job much against the liking of her fiance. When her background becomes a burden she can’t shake, she enters her latest job interview and calls them out for their prejudice.

Several behind the scenes aspects of the movie-making business, which results in the enjoyment the movie going public has in going to the theater, are presented. They include: the production of celluloid aka film stock, the materials used in the production of which include cotton and silver; construction crews who build sets including those to look like cities, towns and villages around the world; a visit with Jack Dawn who demonstrates the process of creating a makeup design; the screen testing process, where many an acting hopeful gets his/her start; the work of the candid camera man, the prying eyes behind the movie camera; a visit with Adrian, who designs the clothes worn by many of the stars on screen; and a visit with Herbert Stothart as he conducts his musical score for Conquest (1937). These behind the scenes looks provide the opportunity to get acquainted with the cavalcade of MGM stars and their productions that will grace the silver screen in the 1937/38 movie season.

On January 1, 1994, a revolt led by the Zapatista Army of National Liberation broke out in Chiapas. A Spanish director documents the pain of the indigenous population. Six years later, he intends to go further and visit the refugees and the guerrillas. However, the siege of silence is protected by more than sixty thousand soldiers who prevent access to indigenous communities.
Since the death of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in February 2008, long-time practitioner of Transcendental Meditation and well-known film director David Lynch has been embraced as the movement’s chief international ambassador. Filmmaker Sebastian Lange, who himself was raised in the movement, presents an intimate look at this new phase in the movement’s evolution.
